Design:
The ribbon mixer consists of a rigid mixing chamber with a central shaft. It is fitted with inner and outer helical ribbons. These ribbons generate a convective flow. The outer ribbons move material from the vessel walls to the center. The inner ribbons return it back to the walls. This ensures fast and homogeneous mixing of dry bulk materials.
The gear motor is operated with a controlled frequency inverter, enabling soft start under full load conditions and variable speed control. This allows precise adjustment of rotational speed according to fill ratio and material properties, optimizing mixing efficiency and process stability.
Principle of Operation:
A ribbon mixer operates using a rotating shaft fitted with inner and outer helical ribbons. The outer ribbon moves material from the vessel walls toward the center, while the inner ribbon pushes it back toward the sides. This opposing flow creates a continuous convective mixing pattern, ensuring fast, uniform blending of the material.
